Oscar and Danny Healy have released a newly recorded version of the well known
Horslips’ song ‘Trouble With A Capital T’ in aid of the Irish Youth
Foundation, as part of ‘The Raw Sessions with Sony Ericsson’ interactive music
television series.
Produced by Lance Hogan, The Raw Sessions recording of “Trouble With
A Capital T” is now available to download for €1 euro from www.therawsessions.ie or by texting
“Trouble” to 57111. The track is being released to support the Irish
Youth Foundation.
The new celebrity Raw Sessions recording of ‘Trouble With A Capital
T’, which was recorded and filmed in 12 hours at Windmill Lane Recording
Studios for the fifth programme, will be transmitted on RTÉ Two on Tuesday, 9th June at
11.50pm.
Lance Hogan, producer, commented: ‘It was an absolute treat, and lots of
fun to work on reproducing one of the classic Horslips tracks ‘Trouble With A
Capital T’ and to work with such a variety of talented singers and musicians.’
Jim Lockhart, Horslips added: ‘It was a hugely enjoyable day in the
studio, great ideas and great performances coming from every direction. There's
a real buzz about getting to work with people you're a fan of, and I'm
particularly a fan of The Republic of Loose. And hats off to Lance Hogan -
he's built a track that stays true to the spirit of the original and brings in
a whole other dimension’.
Julian Vignoles, RTÉ Assistant Commissioning Editor in Entertainment
said: ‘As a big music fan myself, it’s a real joy to be involved in a project
like this which reunites legendary band Horslips with some new talent on the
circuit to re-record ‘Trouble with a capital T’. It’s a song that lends itself
very nicely to this up-to-date reworking.’
The Raw Sessions with Sony Ericsson is both entertaining and real,
giving new depth to modern music programmes and opening the door for real
independent artists across the country to create music and tell their stories.
The celebrity Raw Session with Sony Ericsson is the half way mark in the series
before the leading artists from the first four programmes move to Grouse Lodge
to write, record and mix more new original songs in front of the cameras in 12
hours or less. Viewers vote for their favourite song from each
programme, and by downloading it can help the artists of the week into the
Irish charts.
The Raw Sessions with Sony Ericsson, which is presented by
recording artist and producer Dez Ryan and produced by Lotus Media is broadcast
on RTÉ Two every Tuesday at 11.50pm until 30 June. It will
also be repeated on Saturday nights at 00.45am after the movie. Independent
artists featured on the show include Majella Murphy, Rarely Seen Above Ground
(RSAG), Sickboy, Noise Control, Dirty Epics, Hoarsebox, Infomatics and Sweet Jane,
all taking part in the series with the goal of becoming “Sony Ericsson Artist
of the Year”.

About
The Raw Sessions
The Raw
Sessions concept was conceived and developed by Dez Ryan and producer/artist
Chris Gubisch and their band ‘Surplus’ in a garage studio in LA.
The original concept was developed for broadcast TV with Lotus Media. The
innovative programme represents a first for Ireland by creating an
original music series format while being the first television programme to
produce and bring two original songs to life on air each week, which are then
offered to audiences for download following the show via www.therawsessions.ie
Each week
The Raw Sessions viewers get the chance to vote for their favourite artist and
original song that has been created in front of the cameras. The bands
receiving the most votes move to the next round and a chance to record another
new song at the exclusive Grouse Lodge recording studio in Westmeath.
Voters will receive a code on their mobile phone which enables them to download
their song from The Raw Sessions website www.therawsessions.ie
All
downloads count towards the Irish charts so it is important that viewers
download the song in order to help their favourite band into the charts!!
The top three artists who record new songs in Grouse Lodge will perform at a
live event where one of them will be named “Sony Ericsson Artist of The Year”.
About

others in the Irish media who lead him to a forward thinking and creative
production company, Lotus Media. On his travels he also met the
Sony Ericsson team when he dropped into Cois Fharraige with Sony Ericsson
